Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

Spring is finally here. We’re almost sure your to-do list already feels a mile long, but we have a handful of things that might save you some headaches and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Longview and the last thing you want is to uncover is that you need AC repair. Going through this short checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Swapping your air filter makes it to almost every one of our lists of things to check because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is a mess, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which decreases the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, remove the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers taken off, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and replace them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units free of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to reduce its efficiency.
  3. Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we enter the picture to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up prolongs the life of your system and keeps it working at peak efficiency. Spring is the perfect time to arrange your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be taken care of before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a minimal investment into the life of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with the entirety of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to be sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long.
